MILAN DISTRICT TOURS

Chiaravalle and Viboldone Abbeys: two of the most important Abbeys located inside the agricultural park in the southern area of Milan. The first is Cistercian founded by Saint Bernardo from Claivaux in 1135. The second is nowadays a seclusion cloister of nuns, its popularity is due to a particular order of monks called the “humiliated” who settled there since the 13th century.
The Villas of Delight on Naviglio Grande: during the centuries, along the banks of Naviglio within Robecco and Cassinetta di Lugagnano, the Villas of Delight of Milanese noble families arose. Walking along the canal side and in the historical villages, we’ll admire the gardens, the facades, the unfinished Archinto Palace, the Villa Gaia, the Visconti Negri Villa, the Clari Monzini one. Abbiategrasso and Morimondo Abbeys: The village of Abbiategrasso has roman origin, when it becomes a “feudal gift” to Visconti’s wives, is enriched with a Castle, and many churches like the Santa Maria Nuova with a Cloister by Bramante architect. Not far from the center is the restored Cloister of Annunziata, a votive place commissioned by Duke G.M. Sforza, with renaissance frescoes by Leonardo’s imprinting. The visit will continue to the second older Abbey of Milan District, the Morimondo one, with its typical well preserved Cistercian architecture. Half day tour – car rental with driver
